Frozen Cats and Snotsicles

m-m-m-ro-o-o-w It's freakin' cold out there Mr. Bigglesworth!

I just got in from a half hour of shoveling in -9. Layered up good though, especially with the Raynaud's. (yes, mom. I remembered!) It took 3 pairs of gloves/mittens to keep my fingers from freezing. I was barely able to wedge my hands into the shovel handle. lol! Long thermal underwear, jeans, long sleeve t-shirt, sweatshirt, 2 pairs of socks, and "fur" lined snow boots, scarf, ear muff, winter coat and hood... Mom.....thanks for helping us with all the snow clothes when we were too little to do it on our own! (I know now why we couldn't. It's just too much!) And I came in still feeling cold. But this all got me remembering living "up North". If the roads were clear and the snow wasn't coming down, life went on. School was open. Even if it was -40 with -60 wind chill. Recess moved indoors. The only ones panicking were the teachers. ;-) School is going to be closed for the second day in a row here in CO. I suspect the grocery stores have been packed since this morning with moms and dads frantically trying to stock up on "good food" to keep the kids happy while they're stuck at home with "nothing to do". No snow/too cold for school days here though. Muhahahaha!!! When it "warms up" though, we'll go out and play in what's left. Last storm we went out in 6 degrees. Ummm....yeah. Snotsicles and frozen fingers. Not doing that again!

Stay warm, everyone!
