Today, I had the smartest idea, but it wasn't related to fixing the ice maker. (Although it did lead to it.) Dd planted some flower seeds about 2 weeks ago. She's currently at Grandma's, so it's up to me to water them. The watering can had filled with rain water about a week ago and was running low. My ice, lately, has been smelling of the onion I froze a while back. (YUCK!) So.....I emptied the ice bin into the watering can! No wasted water! WOOHOO!!!!
Eh-hem.... So after I emptied the ice bin, I figured why not see if I could figure out what was wrong with the ice maker. It didn't want to dispense ice, and the ice it did dispense had that white plastic looking stuff in it. :-X I sure did find out what was wrong!!!
Count your surgical tools (er...kitchen tools) before you clean up!!! Last time I canned jam, I apparently missed something.

The spoon was caught in the spinning mechanism that lets the ice out, and grinding away the plastic at the exit of the bin.
**hanging my head in shame**
oops! I hope it's working now that you've got it figured out. HUGS
